A plot of vibratory torque vs. operating speed is used to
evaluate the response in system components, such as engine crankshafts, motor shafts, flexible couplings, driveshafts, etc.
In the figure above, vibratory torque is superimposed on the mean transmitted torque resulting in a combined torque of
20,000 lbf-in due to a critical speed at about 2,300 rpm. Further analysis will determine the vibratory stress and suitability
of the component for the application.
