Measuring torsional vibrations entails recording the torsional pulses generated
by gear teeth, optical encoders, and other pulse-generating devices attached to, or part of a rotating system and processing
the signals through an FFT analyzer. By comparing the responses from two channels, the vibratory response across
an engine crankshaft, flexible coupling, driveshaft, etc., can be determined and evaluated. In addition, the torsional
model (TVA) of the subject system can then be validated and used to evaluate any necessary changes to the system to move/remove
any potentially damaging resonant frequencies.

Linear / Radial Measurement
Using the appropriate sensors and FFT software,
conditions such as unbalance, bearing defects, loose fits, broken rotor bars, and misalignment, to name a few,
can be determined.
